From little acorns

On October 6th This year, some very good friends came along to perform a gig at the Venue to help me to air most of the songs from Partay on ti Dawn (Album # 2) plus a couple as yet in the public domain.

Apart from being a little light on audience numbers, the gig was one of the best musical experiences of my life to date.

With encouragement from the same friends, plus some new ones, arrangements are underway for later next year to perform what is to be album # 2 at some smaller venues (Village halls etc) before showcasing what will be an amazing event at a similarly large stage as the Venue in Chichester.

 Sylvia McEwen
The Brilliant and versatile voice of Sylv McEwen was one of many highlights of the show. Lead singing "Promises" & "Rock n Roll" Mama plus backing vocals in most of the other tracks lent lustre and variety to the set.

Dwight Brady,  An amazing find, following the loss of the original drummer Dwight was able to step in and take the percussion section to a level where above and beyond our hopes.

 Breeze Kilpin

Although not instantly recognisable from the back, Bre showed energy and enthusiasm that can only be attributed to an artist with a very long career in fromt of her. Singing "Lie to my Baby" and "This is it".  Breeze won Sky1's "Don't Stop me now" 2012.

Andy Bierschenk

What can I say about Andy B that has'nt already been said? A master of his craft and one of the nicest blokes I've ever known.

"Long Live Andy"

The Penny Black Choir

Perhaps an unusual choice for support for a Rock Band but this wonderful choir gave the event a completely different level of elegance and harmony.

Mike Fry

Such an incredibly huge range and repertoire to call upon, Mike gave the audience a taste of past and present hits with a high degree of skill and confidence.

 Me.
Waiting to go on.  On the surface a calm exterior. Underneath?  Also calm.  Yeah Right!! ,

The ladies that did....

The Rah, Melanie, Vicky & Charlie. Without whom little would have been so much fun..

See you out there next year guys. I sincerely hope 2013 is as good for you as I think it's going to be for my friends, family and I.

Every so often, that little push gives you the incentive to soldier on. It's been a while since I've had this much attention. Nice!... Really can't wait now. Bring it on.

Ace's Contribution

In the beginning... There was the written song..... Then, from the ether came the music......  Following in almost biblical proportions came the recordings, then, the written word... written words were cast as first contact, with complements and advice from Steve "Ace" Luff. A unique find in this day and age. Steve does what he does to help for the sheer pleasure of helping struggling artists, mostly, until the light shines, for No financial gain whatsoever.

He's still doing stuff as a lover of music for me and this is an perfect example..  There's more... but that's for you to discover later.

Following several serious delays and trials and tribulations,

Partay on til Dawn is finally finished and on sale.

A landmark album in the sense that it's given me a chance to share with some good (and may I say talented) friends a little bit of glory.

The album not only sounds good but looks good too.

The back cover is almost as good.

On sale for the first time on our own website which means costs are cut by not having the big boys taking their cut and/or keeping it all?.

Click on the link below to have a play and buy the album. I guarantee the quality and look forward to seeing you at gigs.

Thank you for your fan/friendship. Please remember, without you, my efforts and whatever talent I have would be worthless.

This is just amazing news.

Sometimes something worthy occurs and this is one of those times.

I've been writing songs for this girl for a couple of years and I'm so proud of her.
It took courage and a natural taltent to win this and she's done it.

I am also honoured to say that Breeze is to be a Special guest at our performance at the Venue in Chichester on 6th October with the Steve Christopher Band.

Tickets will be on sale soon at £8.00 standing - £12.00 seated.

"A whole generation has gone by, since the last time we were together. So much has happened, so many years. So much pain, holding back the tears"

Finally, I settled down, removed all the strife. Now at last, I'm happy. I got myself a life, got myself a life"

Working on vocals with Sylv today.

Yesterday
we had some technical problems but "Super" Pete, sorted them. It's good to have a techie on board.

First full band rehearsal on Thursday 22nd. Absolutely can't wait.

Friday 2 March 2012

FREE dowbload for ALL.

"Thanks to You",
is a song I wrote and recorded approx three years ago. It was one of the first songs I uploaded on what was then, a pretty osbcure  Australian site called Whotune.
It was downloaded and paid for within a few hours by a lovely lady. that I shall always be grateful to. For if she had'nt liked and bought, I might not have been encouraged to carry on writing.

Other news....

After languishing at around #40 in the ReverbNation charts, I appear to have risen to a much loftier #3 this morning. It's quite exciting really and it's all down to your guys, Liking, Playing, downloading, Becoming a fan, etc, etc.

Even more Exciting News :....

TIME MACHINE by Steve Christopher

Time machine...  Something from different time layers/dimentions.   I'm proud of the riff in this, it seems not everyone can play it.  It came about when I was jamming with Pete Parr (Bass) last year. He added a bassline and before we knew it we had the idea down and sorted.   The lyrics came a few days later and with little effort as most good songs do, so it's got a good pedigree.

Oddly enough, I link this with W.Q.A (What questions answered) which although not as heavy, is riff
generated..
Album = "Partay on til Dawn" due Mid 2012.

The "Steve Christopher" band is all but formed with the line up as follows: .

Pete Parr - Bass guitar / Backing Vocals / Musical directer/Engineer
Neville Price - Drums / laughs
Andy B, (Bierschenk) - Lead/Rythm Guitar / beer.
Silvia McKewen, - Lead / Backing Vocals / General organiser (We do as she says)
Dawn Gracie - Guest backing vocals / photographer / Bloody good mate
Steve Christopher - Song writer / Guitar / Lead / Backing Vocals / Dreamer
Chris ? - Keyboards ?
Steve Ace MegaRex - Management / Amazingly pro-active, Lovely guy

We are currently really close to finalising details for the very first Gig later this year. It'll be local to West Sussex but who knows what might follow.
There are a few people that have been really helpful and supportive that live a few miles from here so if we can get up to you guys we will do. You know who you are.

I thank you for taking the time and trouble to read this blog and there will be quite a few more to keep you updated.
